RST Special Metal (Pty) Ltd (“RST”) operates furnaces that process industrial waste material into various metal products that can be re-used in the manufacturing process including chrome and other non-ferrous metals.
Acquisition of RST premised on obtaining high value assets at a significant discount, with a view to exploiting unutilised capacity in furthering the smelting strategic imperative. RST has 5 furnaces, which smelt various products, namely: Columbus Dust, Amsa Slag and Mintek Slag. Current operations are being right sized to optimise efficiencies and improve throughput to generate maximum earnings from the installed capacity.
